   I am very proud to announce that I am the recipient of not one, not two but three of the top honors awarded to jewelers in the USA.  I was invited to attend ,from among jewelers from all over the United States, sponsored by Stuller Settings Inc. (the largest jewelry design firm in the Americas) as a participant in the "Battle of The Bench Jewelers" competition.  The competitors were truly inspiring in their talent and abilities.  After three days of head to head  competition in front of a large attendance of industry professionals during which we had a limited amount of time to complete our designs and with no prior explanation of what would be required of us, I was very pleased to come home with three First Place medals including "Best Overall Jeweler". 

     The first day consisted of a Virtual customer requesting a ring to be designed.  we were given only a few hours to come up with an idea reflecting the customer's desire and to design it fully rendered in a CAD (computer aided design) program.  I was the First Place winner of this competition being - as the judges stated - "the only Jeweler that truly captured every detail requested by the customer".

     The second day we were given a box of parts and pieces (i.e. Food TV's Chopped) as well as some gemstones and told to let our imaginations run wild.  I was inspired to create a three dimensional, two tone necklace enhancer.  of course in this phase of the competition, all work had to be performed in the metal by hand.  I was the First Place winner in this competition as well.

     On the third day we were given our designs from the first day (now 3d printed and cast in 14k white gold).  We now had a limited time to prep, set and fully finish the deign to a deliverable finalized piece of fine jewelry to be judged by some of the most exacting jewelers in the country.  I came in Second in this phase of the competition being narrowly beaten by Jonathan Smitty (a truly fine jeweler). 

I was then overjoyed to receive the medal for "Best Overall Jeweler" an honor I will cherish forever!
